Lupus is an incurable non-infectious auto immune disease of the immune system, where the body's defence mechanism begins to "attack itself", through an excess of antibodies in the bloodstream. This causes inflammation and damage in joints, muscles and other organs. Women make up 90% of Lupus sufferers.
